Getting Away at the Getaway House

One year into PA school and I needed to disconnect from all the stress. We booked the Getaway House in Meadville, Mississippi. These relaxing tiny cabins are just a 2.5 hour drive from New Orleans, LA. This Mississippi outpost offers an expansive 1.5-mile trail with scenic creek crossings that leads to a lookout of the Homochitto River. We also drove 16 minutes to Richardson Creek Trial where our pup River had a blast running in the creek.

We brought groceries to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was raining a lot and it got muddy around the area. So make sure to bring extra dark towels for the pups if you decide to bring them. The only thing I wished they had available was a hose outside the cabin to rinse off the dogs paws. I suggest investing in a portable dog paw cleaner from Amazon.
